Always a Bride
Yes it's true. As you may have guessed from the title of this post I have never been a bridesmaid. I've been a bride twice although for the purposes of fashion and accessories the first go round doesn't really count. Reeling from violent post morning sickness in Westminster Town Hall lavvies, clad in the only decent outfit that still fits your 'blossoming' figure could hardly be classed as a good look. Needless to say all the stops were pulled out for deuxieme nuptials!
Following our recent wedding focus this put me at a slight disadvantage when thinking of items for bridesmaids. Recently we were fortunate enough to have a selection of our Stevie Belts called in by Conte Nast Brides. Naturally I was thrilled and it got me thinking about a clean and sleek approach to bridesmaids dressing as an alternative to the prom dress look.
My bridesmaid for number 2 wore a stunning ruby red fitted bodice under a black evening suit which worked wonderfully. It was just as well considering that her matching circle skirt somehow went missing from my house on the morning of the wedding!!!!!! It couldn't all be loved up wonderfulness now could it?
So with sleek chic in mind here are my top choices for bridesmaid looks from Cerise UK.
First up there is the aforementioned Stevie Belt. Use with a-line dresses or go wild with a jumpsuit at a more casual affair.
For all of the romance with none of the fuss there is the Vicky Davies Heart and Arrow necklace or Anna Lovell's Heart Bangle both made from sterling silver.

Kylie clutch from Steven Harkin can be ordered in many other colours although black and white is a major theme in bridal wear and venue decorating currently.
Stephanie Ray's jewellery is created from cross sections of ecologically stainable bamboo and framed in sterling silver. This cherry blossom pendant celebrates her love of Japanese art and simple lines.
Look to Joseph Lamsin for an elegant shape and great texture. These earrings from his Organic Collection are the perfect way to bring attention to your face and hairstyle.
For a nod to vintage glam combined with eye catching colour choose a Fandango clutch from Carla Beeby.
