What a difference a day makes

mannequin with rose dress

Sometimes its a good thing to have a little shake up. Our joint Eco Chic event definitely rocked the shop by throwing clothes, shoes and make up into the mix.

Oh and let me not forget the chocolate, prosecco and the books. Plus chuck in the photographer who just happened to bring a chef. Even Glider the shop dog got in on the fun.

I have to take my hat off to Makepiece's Beate. She started with just an empty rail, a bunch of missing hangers and a trunk full of knitwear screaming, "Steam Me!". Within the course of a Saturday afternoon she had completely transformed her space into a welcoming array of pieces that were begging to touched and tried on.  By Sunday morning she was in full flow simultaneously educating, entertaining and assisting all of her happy shoppers. Beate tells all

Equally peppy and with an even faster prep time was Hetty. When I look at all of her gorgeous kimono prints I am always taken with their vividness and detail. Its impressive that Hetty  always manages to display them to their fullest without it being a literal clash of the Titans. Her visual feast of shoes and bags gathered quite a crowd of admirers so I'm not be the only one who thinks great things of them.

Lupe Castro was on top form on the day, her energy and enthusiasm for transforming people through clothes could be felt through out the shop. She modelled a beautiful Makepiece shrug along with Hetty's chilli pepper shoes. Lupe also came bearing a massive selection of Jane Iredale  mineral makeup.Lupe models Hetty Rose's Chilli Shoes

Accompanying  Lupe was the wonderful professional make up artist Christelle Kedi. Even though Christelle has worked for film, television and editorials she was so down to earth and made all of her makeover recipients feel at ease. Christelle's work has recently been featured on Body Beautiful (The Voice) and she is a regular contributor for beauty/make up articles on various magazines.Getting Makeup ready so much choice

Photographer Kelsie Mortimer is responsible for brilliantly capturing the day for us in most of these photos. My slightly less glam "before" shot above is pretty easy to spot as the odd one out. Check out her work at http://www.kelsiemortimer.com/.  Kelsie brought along her partner Mel who came in dead handy in my last minute food panic. Mel runs a private chef service cleverly named Travels With My Fork and take it from me she's worth following. She managed to make the plainest bits of fruit and veg look and taste fantastic. Mel and Kelsie and I recently met at a local tweet up in North London. I know I bang on about Twitter but here is a great example of how the virtual can translate into the physical.Chef Mel and Glider Earthly Delights

Oh if only this blog came in quaff-o-vision then you could truly appreciate the Lajara Organic Prosecco Brut pictured above. This was provided by the ever helpful Monica at Women Inspired by Wine. She was so helpful that she even put it into a cab for delivery to the shop when there was no one available to collect it. This of course went brilliantly with the Divine Fair Trade Chocolates that Wendy sent to us.

And of course we managed to have just a bit of fun....You've gotta laugh Christelle has a sweet smile
