There is something about simple and elegant designs that are so perfect it seems that nothing new can be done. But Cerise UK brings the finest in creative talent, the majority of which are independent jewellery designers in London; local to the shop itself.
Among these, the look of Anna Lovell's beautiful heart shaped jewellery remains timeless. Similarly, Vicky Davies' Heart and Arrow designs have a wonderful style to them that are striking and romantic. It might appear that the work of Joseph Lamsin is a much more modern style, and as the name of the range suggests, Organic. They do all share one very clear idea, simplicity and elegance is paramount.
While simplicity has its own beauty, it is hard not to admire the detailed workmanship as presented in Alex Monroe's intricate designer jewellery. London society clamours to see the latest creations. A golden bumblebee hangs vibrantly from a chain, a delicate snake shimmers among gold flowers. Teah Wilson brings the truly unique with inspiration gathered from different outlooks and perceptions. Stephanie Ray's collection of intriguing bamboo jewellery evokes Japanese art and architecture, focusing on simple lines and styles.
Using the very shapes found in the world around us, Katherine Bree brings stunning creations using semi-precious stones, creating startlingly vivid handmade jewellery in London. With the dramatic, dark wood styled jewellery of The Branch, we are further reminded of our connection with the Earth, alive and rich with colour. Over time, the inclusion of silver and gold detailing to the range has brought the designs to a new level without sacrificing the uniqueness of each piece. LeJu, founded by Lenny Trines and Juan Munoz, was built on designs not only influenced by South America and the Amazon, but employing manufacturing techniques from that region.
Ensuring that products are created with ethics in mind is equally important as style and quality. For designer Vivien Johnston of Fifi Bijoux, this has been integral to the development of her business, highlighted by the "From Little Acorns" range. This range has been realised so that both Cerise UK and Fifi Bijoux donate 10% of their profit of these beautiful pieces will go to the education and welfare of orphans with HIV in Uganda. This serves to remind us of how beauty, fashion and responsibility need not be mutually exclusive.
